Michael Tunnicliffe<\/p>\n

The course examines the period of English history from 1216 – 1485. It will examine the individual reigns of the Plantagenet kings of the 13th<\/sup> and 14th<\/sup> centuries and the competing houses of Lancaster and York during the turbulent years of the Wars of the Roses in the 15th<\/sup> century.\u00a0 As well as the lives of the kings themselves, the course will explore the social and religious developments of the time including the rise of parliament in the 13th<\/sup> century, the impact of the Black Death in the 14th<\/sup> century and the beginnings of the Renaissance in the 15th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n

Please note: this course is also offered on Tuesdays at Cheadle Hulme Quaker Meeting House under the title ‘The Plantagenet Kings 1216-1485’.<\/p>\n
