Creina Mansfield & Michael Tunnicliffe<\/p>\n

Hilary Mantel\u2019s long-awaited novel The Mirror and the Light<\/em><\/a> will cover the final four years of Thomas Cromwell\u2019s life, starting with Boleyn\u2019s execution in 1536. It follows Wolf Hall<\/a><\/em> (2009), which charted Cromwell\u2019s rise to greatness, and Bring Up the Bodies<\/em> (2012), covering the machinations that led to Boleyn\u2019s beheading. Both novels won the Booker prize and have sold a combined 1.5m copies, making the third one of the most anticipated novels of the decade. Hilary Mantel said, \u201cThis book has been the greatest challenge of my writing life, and the most rewarding; I hope and trust my readers will find it has been worth the wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

In this day school the Cromwell of the novel will be compared with the historian\u2019s view.<\/p>\n

Recommended reading:If possible, a copy of the novel.<\/p>\n
