Mozart\u2019s two masterpieces of religious music, the Mass in C minor<\/em> and the Requiem<\/em>, are both frustratingly incomplete, and the attempts to complete them over the years are a story in their own right. There is also a considerable repertory of short Masses and Vesper settings which deserve to be better known. We shall use Mozart\u2019s letters as a valuable source to throw light on his religious belief and investigate the extraordinary music which arose from it.<\/p>\n

Course materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring any relevant scores they may have.<\/p>\n
