Please note, due to COVID-19 it was decided to postpone the planned MANCENT conference on The Roman Army in Late Antiquity. We hope to have a date at the end of September 2021, once we have a clearer idea of the future, in the meantime we are offering the Annual Lecture on the work of the Roman Gask Project as replacement Zoom lecture.:<\/p>\n

Our 2020 lecture will summarise the work of the Roman Gask Project in Glenesk, Aberdeenshire over the past four years, focusing especially on the results of the 2019\/2020 season.
\nWe will review the evidence for the prehistoric presence in the glen, the expansion of industrial settlement to in the late medieval period and its collapse and return to \u2018nature\u2019 as a national park from the 17-20th<\/sup> century after the collapse of the mining due to the politics of the period.<\/p>\n
