We will look at Karl Marx and Leon Trotsky as revolutionaries and political commentators on their times; Gertrude Bell, traveller, archaeologist, writer, mountaineer, British agent and political advisor; George Orwell, writer and social critic; and Hannah Arendt, philosopher and political theorist.
