Late Roman History can be messy and complicated \u2013 no doubt about it. Every province does its own thing, invasions of \u2018barbarians\u2019 around every corner, which are usually fought by another lot of Rome-friendly \u2018barbarians\u2019 and on top of it there is one court intrigue after the other.<\/p>\n

It is also one of the most interesting periods of Roman history, because the eventual outcome was not a given and there are many moments when a different outcome would have changed the course of history. In this dayschool we are going to look at what big events and developments shaped the Roman world in the West from the Accession of Constantine to the death of\u00a0 Honorius in 423.<\/p>\n
