This is the second in an occasional series of one-off 2-hour workshops to meet some of the Roman authors and their work.<\/p>\n
This term we will be looking at women writers and orators. Not a lot of their work survives, some like Sulpicia’s survived because it was later ascribed to male writers.<\/p>\n
In the first part of the lecture, we will look at the surviving evidence, while in the second part we will be translating some of the poems ascribed to Sulpicia.<\/p>\n
This course is suitable for students who have completed their Latin grammar training and are roughly at Latin A-level or beyond.<\/p>\n
