This course will study the archaeology and architecture of monastic sites in North West England. It will run from the establishment of the first sites in the Saxon period to their closure during the Reformation of the mid-16th<\/sup> century. Ranging from Carlisle Cathedral in the north to Vale Royal Abbey in the south, the course will look at 50 years of archaeological work on sites such as Chester Cathedral and Norton Priory.
