It is both a big book in size and also in influence. It is one of the chief books among the Jewish prophets and was used extensively for \u201cproof texts\u201d by early Christianity with its \u201cmessianic\u201d passages. Other parts are much less well known such as the Oracles Against the Nations. It is also a controversial book with very different interpretations put on the texts, and debate about the date of the work and whether it is the product of a single author or of many.
