It flourished in the Late Bronze Age c1500-1200BC when international trade was at its height. It was rediscovered in 1928, and within the ruins archaeologists discovered a treasure trove of cuneiform clay tablets. These included not only letters, laws and poems but a series of myths telling of the Canaanite gods and goddesses. Then soon after 1200 the notorious \u201cBronze Age Collapse\u201d occurred and the invasion of the Sea Peoples.
