A series of lectures on the evidence from the Kairo Genizah papers and how it relates to our understanding of Medieval long-distance trade<\/strong><\/p>\n

The discovery of a huge cache of medieval documents nad texts in a Jewish Synagogue in Kairo has provided us not only with insights into the Jewish Community in Arab Egypt, but for the first time gave us detailed insights how long-distance trade was organised and how the Arab states helped (and sometimes) hindered it.
\nThis 5 week course will look at what the documents published to date tell us about this crucial network between Asia, Africa and Europe<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please note all lectures will be recorded and distributed to the participants the following week. This should allow participants from different time zones, or those working to catch up with the lectures.<\/p>\n
