Eventually, just before 3000BC, a ruler from the south called Narmer united the \u201cTwo Lands\u201d of Upper and Lower Egypt into a single state. In the Third Dynasty the Pharaoh Djoser built the monumental Step Pyramid at Saqqara and in the Fourth Dynasty the pyramids at Giza were constructed. Egypt was at the zenith of creativity.
