This term we will be translating some of Ovid’s late work, viz the poems that were written during his exile in Pontos.
\nBoth the Tristia and the Ex Ponto have a very different atmosphere to the earlier poems, less lighthearted, less interested in “girls meet boys”. But the mastery of the Latin language is still there and is still able to impress, perhaps more so, for having a wider range of subject matter.<\/p>\n
