The Amphitheatre in the late second century

By the late second century, the amphitheatre has become an empire-wide phenomenon. Possibly the second most expensive public investment, being able to offer animal hunts and gladiatorial combat had become the characteristic of a self-respecting city. This lecture is exploring some of these building and how they worked.
