The Viking kingdom in Dublin from the 9th century onwards influence the history of the Irish Sea for nearly 200 years, but there were several other Norse settlements in Ireland, while the Irish kingdoms responded to the Viking presence in different ways from large scale battles like Clontarf to acquiescence and cooperation in other parts of the country.
This dayschool will look at some of the amazing archaeology preserved from this period and put it in its historical context.
