We are going on a summer holiday. The Roman history of getting away from it all.

Birgitta Hoffmann

We are brought up to think of our Summer holidays as the highlight of the year. Getting away from it all, enjoying the (hopefully) sunny weather, not being stressed, eating (far too much) good food.
But where did it all start? Did the Romans go on holidays? Where did they prefer to go? Seaside or mountains? What did they do with their time there? Join us on 14th August and discover the Roman idea of ‘otium’ (downtime).
